Misinformation Escape Room DRG (Qualitative Analysis)

  • Duration: About two months (3/29 – 6/1)
  • Data: 17 libraries debriefing interview videos (Spokane Public library, Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries, King County Library System)

Week 1 – Project Introduction (history & goal)

Our project has been undertaken since 2020 Winter. This DRG particularly focused on the data analysis on debriefing interview videos for qualitative team and survey data from quantitative team.

Week 2 – Prepare & Organize data 

We prepared transcripts and analytic memo in ATLAS.ti software.

Week 3 – Assign codes to the data

These are the initial codings based on the a few video analysis. As using these codings, we started to mark the relevant statements.

Week 4 – Review Codes

We reviewed the codings one more time. Also, we discuss the theory and unclear questions/concerns.

Week 5 – Codebook

At this stage, we need to define what and how codes work in the the context. Thus, we started to write the description, example and some reflections of the codes.

Week 6 & Week 7 – Finalize Codes (Consent work)

Based on all the procedure above, we finalize the codings.

The next step was to consent codings from the discrepancy of two annotators.

Week 8 – Identify Themes

Week 9 – New Puzzle game idea

Week 10 – Project End
